“The music is not in the notes, but in the silence between” – Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart
"I am guided by my perception of the subject’s essence, underlying mood, atmosphere, expression, personality, presence, and sense of place. I like to capture subtle and elusive emotions - a half forgotten memory or something fleeting. My message is intangible and cannot be translated into words, instead it is felt."

Testimonials
"I am very good friends with Isabella and never knew she had such an amazing artistic gift, until one evening when she sat with my husband. Tim and Bella both produced a wonderful water colour of Byron Bay Lighthouse from a photo. Then as we were just sitting around chatting, Bella started to sketch Tim; even in his animation Bella was able to capture the very essence of him. We were blown away. We still have that sketch, proudly positioned.
My husband, Tim, enjoyed a significant birthday last year (50) I had no idea what to surprise him with. So I decided to ask Bella to paint a portrait of Laurie Aspinall, Tim's Father. Laurie passed in 2012 he was Brisbane Harbour Master for many years, loving husband and Father to four boys. He is greatly missed.
With help from the Aspinall family I found a photo that was quite fitting and totally epitomized Laurie; at sea, at ease, gentle laughter, surrounded by the navigational instruments and maps that navigated, led and influenced his life.
Tim had to fight the tears back when the portrait was unveiled on his birthday. Since then, all the brothers and other family members have seen the portrait, including Tim's Mum. They marvel at it, Bella just captured the absolute essence of Laurie; she is an amazingly gifted artist. One that Tim and I highly recommend to capture one or more of the special people or moments in your life." - Wendy Aspinall
Here are some pictures of the Aspinall family with Laurie.
Events
Isabella donated this painting to the St Martin’s Mothers Lunch function that was held in August 2015 to help raise funds for some local charities. The painting was raffled off and the lucky winner commented that the children in the painting reminded her of her own!
“The beautiful statue of Mary that stands outside the Church at the school has always given me a sense of calmness – it is an icon of the school that we walk past every day. My children posed for the shot early in the morning before school started when the soft light shines warmly through the translucent marble. A special moment is captured here that shows the spirit of the children of the school and the great love that is shared and is part of this close community at St Martin’s” - Isabella
